Nick Gibb joined Angela Tester in the launch of her book, ‘The Suffragettes at Littlehampton’ to commemorate Millicent Fawcett’s speech 100 years ago at the Littlehampton United Church Hall.
Mr Gibb said, “I was delighted to support Angela Tester in the launch of her important book, recognising and recording for posterity the visit of Dame Millicent Fawcett to Littlehampton in the weeks following the passage of the 1918 Representation of the People Act which gave women the vote for the first time, albeit not all women at that point.
“Angela Tester’s very readable and well researched book adds to Littlehampton’s heritage this important event.”
