Nick will continue to support the regeneration of both town centres to benefit the whole community.

There is a need for more housing throughout the country to ensure young families can have a home of their own. But the location of any new development should be chosen with sensitivity to the character of the area and to the views of local residents.

Protecting Pagham's coastline

Nick has worked hard with local residents and the Parish Council to help win the support of the Environment Agency and government ministers to ensure a channel is cut through the Pagham Spit as the only way to protect people’s homes from coastal erosion.

Housing Developments

I will continue to fight against large-scale housing developments across the constituency and to stand up for local communities.

Nick is passionate about improving the quality of education in our schools. As Schools Minister in both David Cameron’s and Theresa May’s governments, he has led the drive for higher standards in reading and maths in primary schools, a stronger curriculum in secondary schools and improved pupil behaviour. He has helped introduce fairer funding which will result in a 3.5% increase in per pupil funding in West Sussex.

Good quality hospitals, with full A&E services within easy travelling distance, are essential in this area. Nick is working with the NHS to protect our hospitals and to ensure that there are sufficient GPs and GP practices to serve an increasingly ageing population.

Local Flooding

I will continue to work to ensure that flood defences protect the area from flooding, help to improve surface water drainage, and protect peoples homes.
