Nick Gibb MP visited the Shore Community Church in Victoria Drive, Bognor Regis at the invitation of one of the trustees of the Church, Jonathan Lex, to meet the volunteers who run the Shore Cafe and the twice-weekly Renew 139 event.
Renew 139 is a welcoming community coffee and cakes event, open to anyone, geared to supporting mental wellbeing through chat, hobbies and activities. It is run by volunteer and trustee of the Shore Community Church, Sandie Bolton.
Nick Gibb said: “The Shore Cafe is such a welcoming place run by volunteers who want to make everyone feel at home.
“The Renew 139 is part of a national charity that supports mental wellbeing and whose motto is ‘A quiet shared space where it’s OK not to be OK’.
“They meet every Monday afternoon and Friday morning with tea, coffee and cakes and a range of hobbies and activities it just chat.”
