Nick Gibb has seen how coastal erosion has made a footpath along Elmer Sands Beach unsafe, with the nineteenth century flint walls being undermined.
Mr Gibb discussed the dangerous condition of Footpath 829 with farmer and landowner, James Baird and local resident Henry Burrell.
Nick Gibb said: "In the last few years, wave action has eroded the shingle protection on this stretch of the beach, something I am raising with the Environment Agency. But as a consequence, the public footpath along this stretch of the Elmer Sands Beach is dangerous, with caverns appearing that could easily collapse, bringing down tons of rubble. The path is now perilous to walkers and it is time to re-direct the footpath further inland."
