Nick Gibb met residents of Watersmead Drive in Littlehampton, Derrick Morris, Joyce Waters and Kerry Green, to discuss their concerns about a new small housing development, "Willowbank Cottages" that has been built a very short distance from their back gardens.
Nick Gibb said: "I really cannot understand how the national Planning Inspectorate allowed these properties to be built so close to other people's homes. Unfortunately, as planning permission has now been given by the Planning Inspectorate, we now need to persuade the developers to put in place as many mitigating features to improve safety and privacy. In particular, residents are keen for bollards and other safety measures to be placed between the garden fence and the road leading to the new development, to protect the fence from vehicles. I am taking this issue up with the developers."
