Mims Davies MP visited Littlehampton Library to discuss with West Sussex County Council officials and Nick Gibb MP the Household Support Fund.
The Household Support Fund is a £842 million fund to support households in the most need as the cost of living rises due to inflation and rising costs caused by crises such as the illegal invasion of Ukraine by Russia. The money from the Fund is provided by central government through the Department of Work and Pensions but it is administered by local authorities; in the case of Littlehampton and Bognor Regis by West Sussex County Council.
Libraries are used to help publicise the Fund and for potential applicants to discuss their needs.
Nick Gibb said: “It was wonderful to welcome to Littlehampton the DWP minister, Mims Davies MP. Mims is passionate about helping those families who are struggling financially but who may not necessarily be eligible for benefits.
“The Government’s Household Support Fund was created as a consequence of Covid but it is as relevant today as households face increase energy and grocery bills.”
