Nick Gibb MP visited Gusto Wines Ltd in Ford Lane, Ford at the invitation of the company’s managing director and founder, Simon Wallace.
Simon established Gusto Wines in 2012 after spending the first part of his career in the wine business, most notably with Diageo.
The company supplies wine to local pubs, restaurants and hotels. Gusto also has a retail online service so that anyone can order wine to be delivered to their home.
Gusto Wines has a turnover of £1.6 million and now employs 6 people. In 2016 they won the Arun Business of the Year Award, having won the Small Business of the Year Award in 2015.
Nick Gibb said, “As restaurants and pubs increasingly serve locally sourced produce, having a successful and growing wine merchant in nearby Ford is welcome, even if most of the wine itself comes from Europe and around the world.
“Simon’s expertise in wine is impressive as is his entrepreneurial flare. I wish him and all the staff who work at Gusto every success for 2020 and their ambitions to grow the business further.”
