Nick Gibb MP paid a return visit to Southway Primary School, following a few years during which the school had experienced a number of challenges and changes of personnel.
Accompanying Mr Gibb on the tour of the school were the Principal, Miss Sarah Holland and the chief executive of United Learning, Mr Jon Coles.
United Learning is a large trust comprising 70 schools, in both the state and independent sectors. As well as Southway Primary School it also oversees and runs The Regis School. In the independent sector United Learning schools include Guildford High School.
Nick Gibb said: “I enjoyed my visit to Southway Primary School to see first hand how standards are improving in the school. Southway is a large school in an impressive building with excellent facilities and grounds. The staff and principal are committed and passionate about ensuring every child has the best start in life.”
