Nick Gibb visited the Bognor Regis railway station to see progress in establishing the Bognor Regis Creative Digital Hub. This is an an exciting initiative driven by Louise Goldsmith, leader of West Sussex County Council and inspired by the creative talent of Wayne Hemingway, the well known designer.
We discussed the progress of the Bognor Regis Creative Digital Hub in the old Victorian waiting halls. Mr Gibb met West Sussex County Council officers in charge of the project as well as Louise Goldsmith, Wayne Hemingway who has designed the space and Gareth Jones of Town Square Spaces Limited, who has recently been awarded the contract for operating the hub along with his business partner Mandy Weston. We discussed the plans for the space as well as the contract for the cafe in the station and the opportunities the project will create for local businesses as a space to work and come together.
Nick Gibb said:
“I am hugely supportive of this project to transform some of the unused space in the station into a stylish business centre for young, up and coming entrepreneurs.
“The work already completed has improved the building with the space looking very different from when I first saw the derelict rooms in June last year.
“The hub will be a brilliant boost for Bognor Regis, giving small business and self-employed people a space to work together, hold meetings and bring together the business community in the area. I look forward to seeing it up and running!”
