Nick Gibb MP visited My Sisters’ House in Bognor Regis at the invitation of the charity’s CEO, Lucy Budge.
My Sisters’ House helps women who are in a crisis or facing difficulties. They support women who have suffered domestic abuse, either currently or in the past. They provide advice on housing and financial matters as well as counselling services. My Sisters’ House also has an employment skills programme, helping those women who’ve been out of the workplace but who want to return to work.
The charity currently supports between 500 and 700 women. Its Patron is the actor Julie Walters and it was founded by Julie Budge in 2014.
Nick Gibb said: “My Sisters’ House provides critical support to women who are facing a serious crisis in their lives. It is a professionally run organisation based in London Road Bognor Regis but it is also a warm and welcoming place. The staff are cheerful and experienced and they welcome any woman who needs their help.
“My Sisters’ House is a very successful charity that shows what a few like minded individuals with a shared vision can achieve. Since 2014 they have helped thousands of women to recover from traumatic events in their lives.”
